Wayne Rooney moves into 2nd on Premier League's all-time scoring list

Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney isn't scoring very often, but it seems like each time he finds the back of the net this season, the Englishman breaks another record.

This time around, the 30-year-old scored against Swansea City in a regular-season fixture and, with that goal - his 188th in the Premier League - Rooney becomes the second-highest scorer in the all-time league rankings.

Rooney overtakes Andy Cole, with whom he was tied at 187 goals, but is still a ways away from first-place Alan Shearer, who has 260 goals to his name.

Besides slipping into second-place, Rooney also made club history. The goal, a back-heel flick at pace off an Anthony Martial driven cross - was Rooney's 238th goal, making him the outright second-highest goalscorer in Manchester United history.

He overtakes Denis Law for that merit, but is still behind Sir Bobby Charlton, who notched 249 goals in his playing days with the Red Devils.

Rooney also recently broke the record for the England national team's all-time top scorer.
