Juan Mata concerned after Manchester United's run of draws

Manchester United ended November with two draws against PSV Eindhoven and Leicester, leaving midfielder Juan Mata apprehensive as the side enters the busy festive schedule.

The club has been drawn six times in its last nine matches, and the Spaniard believes United's ambitions could slip away if this continues.

"(The match at Wolfsburg on Dec. 8) will be one of the six 'finals' we are facing in a busy December," he told the club website.

"We're starting to see a Christmas atmosphere in the streets of Manchester and, in this country, that is a synonym of football and more football."

Failure to claim three points against the Bundesliga outfit could result in United taking the consolation prize of a Europa League run rather than the Champions League round of 16 stage. PSV sits just one point behind United and with an arguably easier clash with the visit of CSKA Moscow.

# Team Played Goal difference Points
1 Wolfsburg 5 2 9
2 Manchester United 5 1 8
3 PSV Eindhoven 5 0 7
4 CSKA Moscow 5 -3 4

Mata reiterated that United "don't like draws and we want to go back to victories," and was therefore disappointed with the side's last Premier League outing.

"Things are very tight at the top of the table. It's not easy to defeat the teams who are up there, as we could see at Leicester last Saturday," he said.

"We believed we could win but at the end we only got one point, despite taking the initiative most of the time."

Next up for the Red Devils is West Ham on Saturday, and the former Chelsea man has called for a change in fortunes if they are to remain in the hunt for the top domestic prize.

"There's still a long way to go, but if we want to fight for the Premier League title we have to win these kind of games."
