Mesut Ozil confident Arsenal can beat Bayern Munich

Following an impressive 3-0 dismissal of Manchester United on Sunday, Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil believes his side has the quality to see off the threat of German giant Bayern Munich.

Arsene Wenger's side has begun its Champions League campaign poorly with defeats against Dinamo Zagreb and Olympiacos, but a win against the Bundesliga titleholder and five-time European champion would certainly kick off the club's season away from domestic matters.

Bayern Munich visits on Oct. 20 and Ozil is gunning for three points in the tie.

"The win against Manchester United was also a signal - if we play like that and want it 100 percent, then we can beat Bayern too," the German international told Bild via ESPN FC.

"We're playing at home. We certainly have respect for Bayern but we're not afraid of them.

"We know how to score goals against Bayern and can be successful. It will be difficult but we have the potential to beat any team."

Ozil tallied his first goal of the season in the visit of United, and he says he is feeling fully fit after his knee problems. If the rest of the side manages to avoid the attentions of the physio team, the World Cup winner believes Arsenal can make a charge for the Premier League title.

"We have a super team with a lot of world-class players," he continued. "Our goal is to win the Premier League.

"I think it is possible this season if everyone stays fit. But the season is long."
