The time has come and gone for a move away from White Hart Lane after net-minder Hugo Lloris pledged his allegiance to Tottenham.

Even though Lloris signed a four-year contract with Spurs last summer, he revealed he was open to a move to Manchester United as the Red Devils attempted to sort out the David De Gea transfer saga.

In the end, the Spanish 'keeper remained at Old Trafford thanks to a complete breakdown in talks with Real Madrid at the 11th hour, while Lloris continues to ply his trade in London.

"A lot of things were said and written," Lloris told reporters ahead of France's match against Portugal. "There could have been a development there but the desired movement didn't happen.

"I have a lot of affection for Tottenham. I feel respected, I have a very good relationship with the staff and I'm ready to play the best season possible."

There is, however, a chance that talks of a move to Old Trafford picks up again following the season if United are forced to deal with a similar summer in 2016 with De Gea.
