Fabio Borini: Signs with Sunderland

Borini signed a four-year contract with Sunderland on Monday after transferring from Liverpool.

Analysis:

Borini spent the 2013/14 season on loan at Sunderland and the Black Cats have been trying to get him back ever since. He was adamant about staying at Liverpool and fighting for a starting job, but it never materialized, particularly after they added Christian Benteke and Danny Ings this summer, plus the arrival of Divock Origi after his loan. Borini will find playing time much easier to come by at Sunderland, and he could very well start as part of a three-man attack with Jermain Defoe and Jeremain Lens.
