Brace yourself, Premier League. AFC Bournemouth is coming.

Bournemouth made its first summer signing Tuesday as it prepares for its first season in the top flight of English football, completing the permanent signing of 'keeper Artur Boruc on a free transfer.

Boruc, who spent the majority of last season on loan at Dean Court and kept 18 clean sheets in all competitions, was released from his parent club -Southampton - paving the way for Bournemouth to acquire the Polish shot-stopper on a one-year deal with the option for a further 12 months.

"I didn't think that (promotion would be possible) when I signed the contract," Boruc told Bournemouth's official website last month.

"But, as soon as I came here, I saw a bunch of lads who were really working hard and they had their minds on football. They knew what they wanted to achieve and the manager has put in some great work. After a couple of games I realised we could do something and we had the belief to achieve it.

"In my life, I've never seen a group who have worked so hard and been as professional as possible. It's probably the first season I've seen what it is to be a professional footballer from the way they are on the training ground to everything else."
