Max Verstappen: Captures Abu Dhabi Pole
Verstappen took a crushing pole position - with the help of a tow from Red Bull team mate Sergio Perez - to seize the advantage over rival Lewis Hamilton for the title-deciding Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Formula1.com reports.
Analysis:
Perez literally took one for the team in this qualifying session. He would go out before Verstappen in Q3 and give his teammate a great tow down the long straight before bailing out going into the turn. The pull would propel Verstappen to a marvelous lap of 1.22.109, blowing away Hamilton by a solid three-tenths. It was Verstappen's 10th pole position of the season and a huge advantage heading into Sunday's season finale at Abu Dhabi.
