Could a return to Stamford Bridge be on the horizon for Marco van Ginkel?

Well, according to his agent, Karel Jansen, that's what he and his client are working toward.

In conversation with the Guardian, Jansen stated that Van Ginkel's future remains clouded by uncertainty, but added that the midfielder is eyeing a return to Chelsea, having spent the 2014-15 season on loan at AC Milan.

"We don't know yet - his future is unclear at the moment," Jansen said. "He is now playing regularly for Milan but we still have to discuss next season with Chelsea. I think it will be decided next month or by the start of the transfer window. But there is no pressure.

"The goal for Marco is to return to Chelsea so we will see what happens. It is all dependable on what they want to do."

Van Ginkel joined Chelsea from Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem in 2013 for a transfer fee of roughly £8 million. However, he only made three appearances for the Premier League club as a result of an anterior cruciate ligament before being loaned out to Milan, who are reportedly interested in making his move permanent.
