John Hunter Nemechek: Xfinity Starts with Sam Hunt

Nemechek hasn't driven an Xfinity Series car since the end of the 2019 season. But that will change come May. Nemechek is scheduled to drive the No. 26 Sam Hunt Racing Toyota in select races this season, with his first race coming at Dover International Speedway on May 15, Dustin Albino of Jayski reports.

Analysis:

In addition to Nemechek's full-time run in the truck series to pursue that division's championship, Nemechek will make some select starts in the Xfinity Series in 2021. He'll pilot the SHR No. 26 Toyota starting at Dover. The rest of his schedule is yet to be announced, but could be upwards of three or more starts. "I'm so excited for the opportunity to be able to run some races for Sam Hunt," Nemechek said in a team press release. "It's awesome to see what he's done in such a short time, being such a young team owner in the sport."
