Former agent says Radamel Falcao driven to tears by Manchester United struggles

Radamel Falcao is a shell of the prolific striker that made a big-money move from Atletico Madrid to AS Monaco in 2013.

His time with Manchester United has been an utter disaster since he joined the club on loan in the summer, with his misery reaching a climax when he was demoted to the team's under-21 squad.

The frustration has been so great that Falcao's been in contact with his former agent Silvano Espindola to deal with the stress of his situation, according to Daniel Cortes Ibanez of AS Colombia.

"When he was on his way to the ground to play this game with the reserves, he called me. We spoke for 20 minutes until he reached the stadium and he told me: 'I've never been through something like this, I don't know how to deal with this situation. It feels weird for me,'" Espindola said.

Espindola went on to reveal the obvious about his former client, and even detailed how much the struggles have impacted the Colombian.

"We talk a lot. I'm not going to say that he feels happy because he’s not," he said. "We’ve spoken many times and cried together. It's not an easy situation because every player wants to play and every goalscorer wants to score goals, that’s normal.

"But, at the moment, he isn’t scoring and that's part of his football. He's recovering his best form. When we spoke, I told him that this happens to every striker, that he'll get over this poor run, and has happened to every great striker. When you don't score, you're going to begin to feel the pressure."

Since joining the squad in August, Falcao's only managed to score four goals in 18 Premier League appearances, with suggestions United will not seek to make his loan deal from Monaco permanent when the season concludes.
