Darren Fletcher's move to West Ham called off
With time running out before the January transfer window closes, Darren Fletcher will need to start over and find a new destination to apply his trade after a deal with West Ham fell through.
West Ham manager Sam Allardyce confirmed the news after his side's loss to Liverpool on Saturday, with reports suggesting the two sides could not come to an agreement on personal terms for the Manchester United midfielder.
The Scottish international was reportedly in London to negotiate a deal with his representatives, but returned to Manchester after talks broke down.
Fletcher's price tag had him earning roughly £75,000 a week and he was reportedly on the verge of signing a three and a half year deal with West Ham.
The latest twist in this story opens the doors for Valencia to resume their pursuit after the Spanish club expressed an interest in Fletcher earlier this month.
