Laurent Koscielny expected to feature in Arsenal's Champions League match
Arsenal's back line will likely feature a familiar pairing during the team's important Champions League match on Wednesday.
Manager Arsene Wenger confirmed Tuesday that defender Laurent Koscielny has recovered from an Achilles injury ahead of Arsenal's Group D match against Borussia Dortmund and will likely play alongside Per Mertesacker in central defence.
"It’s very good news because he was out for a while now and we are short in numbers defensively," Wenger told reporters, as transcribed by the team's website. "It’s good to have his quality back."
Koscielny last appeared for Arsenal during their Premier League game against Chelsea on Oct. 5. He was sent home the following week when France's medical staff noticed the injury while he was on international duty.
Arsenal have been forced to experiment with numerous partners to play beside Mertesacker and have only managed to keep two clean sheets - against Sunderland and Burnley - during the seven games he's been absent.
