Austin Dillon: Poor Finish at Martinsville
Dillon would get tangled up in some on-track trouble and finish a disappointing 30th in the STP 500 at Martinsville Speedway Monday afternoon.
Analysis:
The day started promising enough with the No. 3 Chevrolet starting 12th on the grid. Dillon would race in the tail-end of the Top 10 at times and inside the Top 15 at others. The RCR driver looked poised to cash in on a good finish, but problems would crop up. No radio comms would plague the No. 3 team, then a pit road speeding penalty would compound the issue. It would finally culminate in a lap 385 run-in with Jamie McMurray. Dillon's 30th-place finish was his first outside the Top 20 this season. He slips one spot to 13th-place in the driver point standings.
