Gary Neville on Ryan Giggs' wondergoal from 1999 FA Cup final: 'He should have passed'

It was the most iconic of English football scenes.

The 1998-99 FA Cup semifinals. Manchester United taking on Arsenal in a replay at Villa Park as Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger patrolled the sidelines.

With the score level at 1-1 after 90 minutes, the match headed to extra time, setting the stage for one of the greatest goals from Ryan Giggs' 23-year career at Old Trafford.

It seems unfathomable that anyone could criticize Giggs for the wondergoal. After all, he took out four defenders while dribbling over half the length of the pitch.

However, this week saw Sky Sports analyst Gary Neville - who was on the field that day and has described the fixture as the best game he ever played in - poke fun at Giggs for his selfishness ahead of the strike, joking about the Welsh midfielder's greediness while using his gizmos to illustrate that Giggs should have passed to one of his better-positioned teammates.
