Aaron Ramsey, Mikel Arteta to miss Arsenal's next 2 matches

Arsenal's injury situation went from bad to worse in Saturday's North London derby as both Aaron Ramsey and Mikel Arteta required first-half substitutions after picking up a hamstring injury and a calf problem, respectively.

Ramsey exited the fixture just before the interval and was replaced by Santi Cazorla, while Arteta exited the pitch in the 28th minute and was replaced by Mathieu Flamini.

With Arsenal scheduled to take on Galatasaray in the Champions League on Wednesday, before meeting Chelsea in the Premier League four days later, the timing of the injuries couldn't be worst.

"They're out for Chelsea," said Wenger after his side's 1-1 draw versus Tottenham.

Wenger is particularly concerned about Ramsey's ankle injury as the Welsh midfielder injured his ankle earlier this month during Wales' 2-1 win over Andorra in Euro 2016 qualifying.

"It is a concern that Ramsey did his hamstring," Wenger added. "I don't understand because he had a good rest this week and I didn't play him against Southampton on Tuesday. It's a surprise because he's usually a resistant boy."

Already on the sidelines for Arsenal before Saturday's match were Olivier Giroud, who is dealing with a broken tibia,  and Mathieu Debuchy, who is expected to miss three months after undergoing ankle surgery. Furthermore, Theo Walcott is expected to return after October's international break.
