There are plenty of reasons for Manchester United supporters to be excited about the arrival of Radamel Falcao at Old Trafford, but one thing they might be slightly concerned about is the Colombian striker's history of injuries.

In addition to damaging the anterior cruciate ligaments in his left knee this year and subsequently missing the World Cup, Falcao tore ligaments in his right knee twice during his time at River Plate.

However, on Thursday, El Tigre downplayed any fears over the state of his knees as he prepares for his United debut against Queens Park Rangers on Sunday.

"I feel well," Falcao told the Guardian. "I started to play two months ago with Monaco and I've improved in the last month a lot. I've been scoring goals which is important for strikers. I have confidence in my physical form and I am comfortable with my knee."

United supporters will obviously be hoping that Falcao can healthy in order to replicate his numbers from his two previous clubs: 70 goals in 91 appearances at Monaco and 72 goals in 87 appearances at Porto.
