Report: West Ham's Andy Carroll could miss 4 months with torn ankle ligaments

West Ham will be without the services of striker Andy Carroll for four months, as a report from Ben Smith of the BBC indicates that the towering striker has suffered a serious ankle injury,

The report comes after West Ham owner David Sullivan's son tweeted out the following earlier in the day:

According to the Daily Mail, Carroll suffered the injury in a pre-season friendly against Wellington Phoenix on Wednesday, and will now be forced to watch from the sidelines until late November.
