Danny Rose is nearing the end of his road to recovery from a knee injury, with Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino hinting at a possible return to action during the north London derby later in April.

The left-back has been sidelined since Tottenham's goalless draw with Sunderland on Jan. 31 when he damaged a ligament in his knee.

The team revealed Rose is slowly beginning to take part in regular training with his teammates after a period of individual exercises.

Pochettino wasn't willing to prediction when Rose might return to first-team action. However, when asked if he'd be available against Arsenal on April 30, the Argentine only said he's hopeful the 26-year-old will feature before the season concludes.

“Next Sunday will be three months that he got injured," Pochettino told reporters, according to Darren Lewis of the Mirror. "We will see. Today he started to do some things with the group.

“We will see how he reacts in the next few days. Then we will see. We have been careful with him but we are happy that he is in a good way. We hope he will be available as soon as possible to be selected.

“We need to check him and he needs to recover the feeling of the competition after three months. That is difficult for a player after three months ... but the door is not closed and we are flexible.”

In the meantime, Ben Davies will continue to deputise for Rose at left-back.
