Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce reckons midfielder Yohan Cabaye could be off to Marseille in the summer.

Cabaye, who joined the Croydon side in 2015 from Paris Saint-Germain for a then-club-record fee of £10 million, recently told beIN Sport that he was "unsure what the future holds."

Eagles gaffer Allardyce has piggybacked Cabaye's remarks, telling BBC Sport, "Reading between the lines, he would like to go to Marseille if they made a big enough bid."

With Palace sitting 16th, just four points clear of the drop ahead of Saturday's clash with table-topping Chelsea, relegation to the second tier would likely expedite Cabaye's exit.

"He would like to keep the club up. In today's world and today's society, if he does the job for us and keeps us up and Marseille offer us millions of pounds, then Steve (Parish, Palace's chairman) will say, 'Should we or shouldn't we?'" Allardyce added.

Paired of late in a deep-lying midfield role with Serbian international January signing Luka Milivojevic, Cabaye has been a stable of Allardyce's squad, making 25 league appearances, bagging two goals while registering two assists.

Even so, Allardyce appears resigned to losing the 31-year-old if the price is right, and with new owner Frank McCourt's influence on Marseille including winter window moves for Dimitri Payet and Morgan Sanson, the Cote d'Azur side seem willing to splash the cash.

"But I would prefer to keep him. What happens in the summer? Who knows? There will be some comings, there will be some goings and that happens at every football club now. Too much these days."
