Arsene Wenger is optimistic over Arsenal's chances of retaining both Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil amid growing concerns that the pair will leave north London.

"I personally believe both of them want to stay," Wenger told reporters Thursday. "I hope the club will find an agreement with them."

Speculation over their futures has persisted throughout the season as negotiations over renewing their Arsenal contracts have been non-existent in recent weeks and months.

Most recently, Sanchez has reportedly been identified as Chelsea's top priority when the summer transfer market opens, while Ozil appears to be the most likely of the two to commit to a new deal after insisting he's "comfortable" at Arsenal.

Wenger, who insisted contract talks will be put on hold until the summer, preached caution following Sanchez's interview in his native Chile, where - despite saying he's happy in London - the Arsenal coach feels his star was misquoted when he was asked about links to Chelsea.

"You have to be cautious when they give interviews in their home country," Wenger warned. "The interpretation is not always correct.

"In a positive way, there's only one team in London, so he's happy. He wants to win the championship, that's what everybody wants.

"I have not a lot to add. I think he's happy here. We have not extended his contract, I hope he will stay at the club. It happened before when we had to sell our best players. But that's not the case anymore.

"He has one and half years contract. I don't think it is an immediate concern for Arsenal."
