Report: Arsenal's Jenkinson fails to agree on personal terms with Palace

Carl Jenkinson has been unable to agree on a contract with Crystal Palace over a £7-million switch from Arsenal, reports the Guardian's Dominic Fifield and Paul MacInnes.

The Eagles were willing to match Jenkinson's £40,000-a-week wages to secure a deal, but the full-back apparently wanted an improvement on those terms to swap a title pursuit for a relegation battle.

However, Jenkinson, 24, remains intent on leaving the Gunners for first-team football - he's currently lodged behind Hector Bellerin and Gabriel Paulista in the right-back pecking order - and will entertain moves to other interested parties, such as Watford and West Bromwich Albion.

He has made just one Premier League start this term and, perhaps due to the various fitness issues he's suffered in north London, has failed to deliver on the promise he showed before transferring from Charlton Athletic in 2011.

Jenkinson spent two consecutive seasons on loan at West Ham in 2014-15 and 2015-16, but the latter stay was cut short when he suffered a torn ligament in his knee.
