Gabriel Jesus' paperwork is expected to be cleared by Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning, enabling him to make his Manchester City debut in Saturday's visit from Tottenham Hotspur, reports the Guardian's Jamie Jackson.

The 19-year-old Brazilian has been training with his new club for three weeks since his shift from Palmeiras was rubber-stamped. He couldn't make his debut in Sunday's harrowing 4-0 loss at Everton, however, because the Football Association didn't complete its due diligence process in time.

The £27-million marksman joins having already collected the Copa do Brasil, 2016 Brasileirao, and the individual prize of a Serie A Golden Boot in his early playing days, and partnered with Barcelona star Neymar to great success in the Brazil strikeforce over the latter half of 2016; he's fashioned five goals and four assists in his six caps so far.

Considering the limp forays forward at Everton last weekend, there's a chance his penetrative runs off the left flank or through the middle could be ushered straight into the lineup against Tottenham, which boasts the tightest defence in the Premier League with 14 conceded in 21 outings. An inclusion for Jesus from the first whistle would be a surprise selection from Pep Guardiola, though.

Sergio Aguero is leading the line for City, but has mustered just one strike in his last four league appearances - a rate that, by his standards, almost marks a dry spell.

Another option is Kelechi Iheanacho, the young Nigerian who often acts as a super-sub but has been notching goals at a rate of one every 102 Premier League minutes since his August 2015 debut.
