Manchester City's new teenage sensation Gabriel Jesus will not have his registration cleared in time to make his debut for his new club at Everton on Sunday.

The 19-year-old, signed for approximately £27 million from Palmeiras in his homeland of Brazil, required international clearance to introduce himself to English football at Goodison Park but, even though he won't make that test, ESPN FC's Jonathan Smith reports the club is relaxed about the situation.

It's understood that Jesus has been training with his new teammates at the Etihad Campus since Jan. 3, working his way back to match fitness following a short break from competitive football after finishing nine points ahead of Santos in the Brazilian Serie A in November for a record ninth title in the country.

"We are delighted he is here and what we are looking for is for him to settle as soon as possible, to try to help him to be happy here and to have a good connection with his teammates," manager Pep Guardiola said of his new arrival last week.

Striking duties at Everton are likely to rest with Sergio Aguero, with Kevin De Bruyne trying to pry open the defence with his trademark incisive passing.
