Foster inks new Baggies deal

Fresh off a 150th Premier League appearance, England international shot-stopper Ben Foster has signed a new deal with West Bromwich Albion that will keep him at the Hawthorns through 2019.

The Baggies announced the deal in a statement on its website Saturday, confirming that Foster, 33, had put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half year contract.

Foster, who joined West Brom in 2011 on loan from Birmingham City before making a permanent switch a year later, has started all 17 of the club's league fixtures this season.

"We’re delighted we’ve extended Ben’s contract," Baggies boss Tony Pulis said. "His form this season has been there for all to see and he continues to set the standards at the club all the goalkeepers have to aspire to."

With West Brom sitting eighth in the table ahead of a Boxing Day clash with Arsenal, as far fetched as a league triumph is, Foster has targetted cup successes.

"I would love to help us win a Cup," Foster conceded. "I did that with Birmingham City a while back now and the sense of achievement was massive. It would be so good for everyone at Albion to experience the same thing."
