Ibrahimovic thinks he could play until 50: 'The older I get, the better I get'

Despite being one of the oldest players in the Premier League, Zlatan Ibrahimovic hasn't showed any signs of slowing down since his arrival in England.

The Swedish forward's brace to help Manchester United beat West Bromwich Albion over the weekend brought him within two of Diego Costa's league-leading 13 goals.

As the 35-year-old boasts a Premier League scoring record - 11 goals in 16 matches - better than the likes of young stars such as Romelu Lukaku (nine) and Harry Kane (seven), Ibrahimovic is confident that his playing days are far from over after comparing his career to a "fine red wine."

"The older I get, the better I get, like red wine," Ibrahimovic said, according to Andy Charles of Sky Sports. "You like red wine? I'm a perfect example of that.

"I'm settling in. I feel happy, I feel good. Even if I'm 35, in my mind I'm 20. I think I could play also at 50, but it's not down to me."

There was some concern that the Premier League's fast pace and physical style wouldn't suit the former Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan forward, but Ibrahimovic said the undisciplined style of play in England is the only aspect that's caught him off guard.

"The only thing that surprises me (about the Premier League) is that the game is not controlled," Ibrahimovic said.

"Back and front, back and front, the rhythm is high but this is how the game is and you have to adapt your body to it. I have played in different championships in different countries and always adapted."
