Premier League team of the weekend: 5-star Swans' attack make lineup

After another weekend of some great individual performances, theScore puts together a best XI from the latest slate of Premier League fixtures.

The lineup

GK - Darren Randolph

Once again, Manchester United was denied a deserved home victory and, at times, it felt like Randolph was thwarting Jose Mourinho's outfit on his own. The Irishman made seven saves - three of which were of the top drawer - and will consign Adrian to bench-warming duties for even longer.

CB - Bruno Martins Indi

Watford scratched its head and surveyed Stoke City's backline like an architect that got his measurements wrong. There was no way it could build a successful attack. Part of the reason was Martins Indi, the Dutch brute who intercepted four times and made 11 clearances.

CB - Virgil van Dijk

Southampton's Van Dijk continues to boost his price tag. No one made more key passes than the defender throughout the Saints and Everton ranks, but he also put in five timely interceptions as the away side pressed for an equaliser.

CB - Cesar Azpilicueta

Eden Hazard, Diego Costa, Pedro, Victor Moses, and many others are stealing the headlines for Chelsea, but Azpilicueta has been equally instrumental. It was an all-round defensive masterclass from the Spaniard in the 2-1 defeat of Tottenham Hotspur, with four interceptions, five hoofs from danger, and seven tackles.

RM - Josh Sims

Nineteen-year-old Sims had been tearing up the Premier League 2 with the Southampton Under-23s, so was given his debut by first-team handler Claude Puel. Each of his five dribbles against Everton were successful, he assisted for Charlie Austin's winner, and wasn't afraid to have a pop on goal. Superb bow.

CM - Gylfi Sigurdsson

Where would Swansea City be without Sigurdsson? In the Welsh club's madcap 5-4 beating of Crystal Palace, the Icelandic midfielder was involved in most of its attacks - often via his pinpoint set-piece deliveries. His free-kick was mischievous, catching Wayne Hennessey off-balance to sweep in a lovely strike.

CM - Leroy Fer

While Sigurdsson has been vital for over two terms now, Fer is the struggling Swans' standout man this season. He was alert in burying his two tap-ins, and only Jack Cork had more touches of the ball at the Liberty Stadium.

LM - Alexis Sanchez

Two more goals for Sanchez, who has now been directly involved in 11 league tallies for Arsenal in 2016-17. His boss Arsene Wenger told the club website after the 3-1 win over Bournemouth: "Even when he looks dead, he's still alive and always finds the resources to do something special. He has that conditioning which allows him to always find an extra gear to be dangerous."

FW - Alvaro Negredo

Negredo's first goal was fortuitous - his shot bouncing off his standing foot before ballooning into the net - but his second harked back to his previous English spell at Manchester City, as he corralled a long ball before pounding in a finish with the outside of his left trotter. Middlesbrough was desperately unlucky to come away from Leicester City with just a 2-2 draw.

FW - Fernando Llorente

He only played half an hour, but Llorente, who was subject to stories suggesting he was unsettled at the club, provided an assist and scored two to ensure Swansea took all the spoils in a Premier League classic. With his introduction, Bob Bradley's side had a focal point up front.

FW - Diego Costa

Costa didn't get on the scoresheet, but since he's banished some of his playacting and over-egged aggression he contributes much more than goals for Chelsea. For Moses' winning strike, the Spaniard beat Mousa Dembele in a dance-off before sliding an inviting pass across the six-yard box to his colleague.
