Toure's agent won't apologise to Guardiola

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure is hoping to make amends in his relationship with manager Pep Guardiola, a goal made slightly more difficult after his manager, Dimitri Seluk, weighed in by pointing fingers once more.

"I'm not apologising," Seluk told talkSPORT, as quoted by Sky Sports. "We want peace, but I'm not apologising. Apologise for what?

"We will see about the future, but most important we make steps to each other. Guardiola must now do the next step, because we make a step from our side to make peace."

Guardiola had previously said Toure would not play for City unless Seluk apologised for saying Toure was "humiliated" by his Champions League snub.

Toure himself apologised to the club for "misunderstandings of the past" that saw him relegated down team ranks and left off the squad for European competition.

It didn't take long for Guardiola to address the situation in his Friday press conference, offering that he's ready to forgive and move on.

"I have spoken with Yaya today," Guardiola said, as quoted by ESPN FC. "Of course, it was a private conversation. I know what happened, what he said, of course. It's good news for Manchester City - that's the most important thing - and for Yaya, whom I appreciate. I have known him from a long time ago.

"Yaya is in all our meetings and all our training sessions. You know the situation, nothing has changed. I answer about Yaya, I do not answer anymore. I spoke with him, that's good, that's all. Now I'm focused on Middlesbrough and you know the situation."
