Chelsea humiliates Mourinho, Manchester United in 4-goal rout

Welcome back to Stamford Bridge, Jose.

All of the buildup to Sunday's anticipated contest between Chelsea and Manchester United focused around the return of former Blues boss Mourinho, the once revered tactician who, despite being fired last December amid a dire campaign, was still appreciated - if not quite beloved - in west London for his successful spells at the club.

His Red Devils had an opportunity to remind Chelsea supporters of what they were missing with the self-described "Special One" now manning the touchline of the Manchester side.

It didn't quite work out that way. Not at all. In truth, it was a nightmare for the Portuguese.

Chelsea battered United 4-0, a goal in the opening 30 seconds from Pedro setting the tone for what was a one-sided beatdown, complete with ridicule from the fans and even a fantastic solo goal from N'Golo Kante.

The two aforementioned tallies were sandwiched by goals from Gary Cahill and Eden Hazard, as Mourinho was forced to endure what surely would have been a harrowing 90-minute experience.

The humbling defeat leaves his side seventh in the table, while his former outfit vaults into fourth, a single point adrift of top spot.
