Report: Arsenal unsure about Sanchez's desire to sign new contract

Doubt has apparently crept into the minds of Arsenal's brass over Alexis Sanchez's eagerness to remain in north London.

With his contract set to expire in 2018, manager Arsene Wenger confirmed earlier in the week that negotiations with Sanchez, as well as Mesut Ozil, will soon take place with the intention of offering the pair improved contracts to deter them from leaving the Emirates Stadium.

The uncertainty is reportedly linked to Sanchez's insistence on having a buy-out clause included in a new contract, including a substantial raise in his pay, sources have told Peter O`Rourke of ESPNFC.

The report indicates that Italian champions Juventus - who reportedly attempted to lure Sanchez away from Arsenal during the summer transfer window - will continue to keep track of the situation and possibly reopen discussions with the Premier League side if it decides to sell the Chilean playmaker.

Meanwhile, discussions with Ozil, whose contract also expires in 2018, and his representatives have reportedly been much smoother, according to O'Rourke, thanks to the German midfielder's satisfaction with life in north London and willingness to commit his future to Arsenal.
