Pep Guardiola is prepared to let Samir Nasri become the manager's first significant departure from Manchester City, according to Sky Sports' Paul Vinnell.

A bid of around £17 million should apparently be enough to encourage City to part ways with the 29-year-old midfielder.

The Frenchman signed from Arsenal in 2011 and went on to capture two Premier League titles and a League Cup winners' medal, but managed just four top-flight starts last season as he struggled with numerous fitness concerns.

When reporting for pre-season training under his new boss Guardiola, he made a poor first impression by tipping the scales over his ideal weight.

His route into first-team recognition has also been made more difficult by the summer signing of Ilkay Gundogan from Borussia Dortmund, and from this summer's warm-up matches it appears fellow new boy Oleksandr Zinchenko could be given a chance in the matchday squad to start the 2016-17 season.

Sky sources understand that AC Milan, Inter Milan and AS Roma are among those interested in the portly performer.
