Leicester City may look to boost its attacking unit this summer by signing another Algerian to join PFA Player of the Year Riyad Mahrez at the King Power Stadium.

The Premier League champions will reportedly consider submitting an offer to Sporting CP for the services of Algerian international Islam Slimani, according to Fabrizio Romano of the Guardian.

Slimani was targeted by Leicester last season, but Sporting will likely command a higher transfer fee after the 27-year-old banged in 27 goals in 32 league matches this season.

It's expected Leicester, and other interested suitors, will have to submit a bid worth at least £25 million before Sporting considers selling the talented forward.

Leicester has yet to make an official offer for Slimani, who joined Sporting CP in 2013 from CR Belouizdad in Algeria.

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri also admitted his coaches have been monitoring Pescara striker Gianluca Lapadula throughout the season. His 24 goals in 38 games helped the Serie B side win promotion to Italy's top flight.

"I just want some new players who are at the level of my starters, and greater tactical coordination for the team," Ranieri revealed to La Gazzetta dello Sport, as translated by Sky Sports.

"We also look to Italy for the market. Lapadula is very good. We've been following him for a while."
