Sturridge insists he's 'happy' at Liverpool, not considering exit

Contrary to various report, Daniel Sturridge is enjoying life at Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp.

So much so that the English forward is convinced that the future holds "something special" for the Merseyside club.

Although he's not receiving the regular playing time he'd hoped for, Sturridge insists he is happy at Liverpool and dispelled reports that he is seeking a move away.

"Yeah, of course I am happy here," Sturridge told reporters.

"I'm happy. I'm happy. I have never expressed not being happy here. I think it is everyone playing Devil's Advocate. They see that I have been left out sometimes and they think 'maybe that means he is unhappy' but, at the end of the day, the manager has got a job to do."

Sturridge added that injuries have also made it difficult to break into the first team on a regular basis, but he's learned to put things into perspective and is grateful for his role at Liverpool.

"I have had the injuries and I have been in and out of the side in recent times but it has never been a case that I am not happy at the club," Sturridge said.

"I am grateful to the club for giving me the chance to come here from Chelsea. I am grateful to Brendan (Rodgers) for signing me as well. Now Jurgen has come in and he is giving me minutes on the pitch. You know - I could not be playing at all."

Sturridge will look to play a role in Liverpool's final three matches of the Premier League season, including the Europa League final against Sevilla on May 18.
