Eliaquim Mangala: Could train soon

Mangala (hamstring) could return to training next week, manager Manuel Pellegrini said Friday.

Analysis:

Mangala has missed three consecutive league matches due to the ailment, and given the potential return to training next week, he's unlikely to play Tuesday against Sunderland. If he is able to train soon, he could return Feb. 6 against Leicester. Martin Demichelis is expected to continue to partner with Nicolas Otamendi while Mangala and Vincent Kompany (thigh) are out.
