Jack Wilshere suffers turned ankle vs. Borussia Dortmund
Consider this adding insult to injury.
Or perhaps adding injury to injury.
Following Arsenal's 2-0 Champions League loss to Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday, in which they were completely overwhelmed for 90 minutes, Arsene Wenger revealed midfielder Jack Wilshere picked up a turned ankle during his time on the pitch.
"Jack Wilshere has turned his ankle, it's difficult to say how bad it is because I am a bit cautious, normally it's not very bad but because of his history I'm a bit cautious," Wenger said.
Wilshere has one of the lengthiest injury histories you'll ever see for a 22-year-old: he's undergone two surgeries in less than three years, including one on his right ankle in May 2013, and he was also sidelined for just over two months towards the end of last season after breaking a bone in his foot.
