Italian squad receives boost as injured players resume training
Italy looked like a much more complete squad during training on Tuesday with the return of Gianluigi Buffon, Mattia De Sciglio, Daniele De Rossi and Andrea Barzagli from various injuries.
Buffon missed Italy's victory over England with ankle and knee issues. De Sciglio also missed the match due to an injured left leg.
If Buffon is ready to go on Friday against Costa Rica, Salvatore Sirigu will likely be relegated to the bench despite a solid performance in goal against England. Having De Sciglio - a left back - in the lineup returns Giorgio Chiellini to the center back position, which he is much more comfortable playing.
De Rossi and Barzagli missed training on Monday mainly as a precaution, with De Rossi feeling some neck pain following the England match and Barzagli still recovering from knocks he picked up during his season with Juventus.
