Faced with a potential striker impasse at new post Everton, Ronald Koeman is reportedly considering a move for Ajax forward Arkadiusz Milik.

With Romelu Lukaku's future at Goodison Park uncertain amid transfer speculation, and former Southampton striker Graziano Pelle on his way to China, the ex-Ajax standout is targeting Milik for a potential switch, according to Phil Kirkbride of the Liverpool Echo.

A decision reportedly hinges on Lukaku's Everton tenure, and earlier speculation that the Belgian international was poised for a return to Chelsea has been muted after countryman Michy Batshuayi moved to Stamford Bridge from Marseille a week ago.

Fresh off a major tournament debut with Poland at Euro 2016, Milik, 22, has not surprisingly become the object of interest of top-flight clubs. With his profile boosted and three years left on his deal with the Amsterdam side, it will likely take a decent bid to pry Milik from the Eredivisie.

Ajax sporting director Marc Overmars addressed talk of a potential exit for Milik, saying, "At the moment the departure of the player isn’t scheduled, we’re not selling him.

"To get things started it’d take a monster offer, but it’d only be possible after the Champions League qualifiers (at the start of August)."

The Dutch giants enter the Champions League at the third qualifying round. And with a second leg fixture scheduled for Aug. 2 or 3, Koeman will have to wait if he's going to pounce on a second marquee summer signing. Another former Ajax regular, shot-stopper Maarten Stekelenburg, signed with Everton the first day of the window from Fulham after a spell under Koeman at Southampton.
