Manchester City all but clinches Champions League berth
Pep Guardiola will indeed have Champions League football next season at Manchester City.
The Citizens all but secured a place in Europe's showpiece competition next season with a 1-1 draw against Swansea City on Sunday, as they now sit on 66 points and hold an enormous advantage in goal difference over Manchester United, which sits on 63 points and has one match to play following the abandonment of Sunday's contest against Bournemouth.

The match has yet to be rescheduled, but United would need to win by 19 goals to leapfrog the Citizens into fourth place; barring the most absurd avalanche of goals in league history, City is back in the Champions League.
"We maybe didn't finish in the position we wanted, but we deserved the spot in the Champions League," Pellegrini, who now departs the club, said after the match.

It was a struggle this season for the Citizens, who fell well below expectations after a blistering start to the campaign, but disaster was averted on the final day at the Liberty Stadium.
