Jeff Keeping has won his bid to become the new president of the CFL Players' Association, according to multiple reports.

The former Toronto Argonaut and current Winnipeg Blue Bombers offensive lineman challenged for the presidency against incumbent president Scott Flory. Keeping won the bid at the union's annual general meeting in Las Vegas.

It's no surprise to see Flory out the door, as many CFL players were openly unhappy with the way he conducted business, especially regarding the small gains in the 2014 collective bargaining agreement.

Keeping takes over at a rather tumultuous time, as the CFL is on the cusp of making shifts in player safety and rules changes.

But the biggest issue coming up is the impending CBA negotiations. Although the CBA doesn't expire until prior to the 2019 season, talks over cap increases could be put into effect as early as this season.
