Lions close out regular season vs. Stampeders in playoff preview

Before the BC Lions and Calgary Stampeders can do battle in Calgary in the CFL West Semifinals on Nov. 15, the sides square will off Saturday in British Columbia.

The Lions are coming off a playoff-clinching win over the Toronto Argonauts and appear to be rounding into form at the right time. The win was the Lions' third straight, which they can stretch to four with a home victory over Calgary. Not to be outdone, the dominant Stamps come in riding two-game winning streak.

With both teams' playoff positions locked into place, the Stamps are expected to give Bryant Moniz time at quarterback, though Drew Tate could still start. The Lions will give Travis Lulay the final start of the regular season, while starter Jonathon Jennings rests.

The start could mark Lulay's last with the Lions, as the 32-year-old has been supplanted by the younger Jennings and is a free agent at the end of the season.

Neither team has much to play for in this one, but the winner will undoubtedly gain a bit of confidence heading into the playoffs in two weeks. Then again, at 13-4, the Stamps shouldn't need much extra confidence when they face the 7-10 Lions at home.
