Argos attempt to dent Alouettes' playoff hopes

The Toronto Argonauts have already punched their ticket to the postseason, and Friday, they'll look to damage the playoff hopes of a division rival.

Montreal can't make it in the Eastern Division, but it's still very much in the mix for a crossover spot. The Alouettes currently have a 5-10 record, tying them with the B.C. Lions and putting them just in front of the 5-11 Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Should Montreal pass the Lions and hold off the Bombers, they would claim the third spot in the West.

The Als remain in the hunt despite dropping their past four contests. Montreal has now used seven different quarterbacks this season, with Kevin Glenn the latest to try his hand in last week's loss to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Glenn threw three picks in Montreal's defeat after being acquired only days earlier. Hopefully for the Als, he has a better grasp of the offense this time around.

Meanwhile, despite having clinched a spot, the Argos have plenty to play for: Toronto still has a chance to overtake Hamilton and secure a first-round bye.

Friday's game will be played at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton.
