Redblacks looking to clinch playoff spot vs. Bombers

The Ottawa Redblacks will look to secure a playoff spot Friday night when they take on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Ottawa is a game back of both the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Toronto Argonauts for the Eastern Division lead. With Hamilton quarterback Zach Collaros done for the season and Ottawa still having the Tiger-Cats twice on its remaining schedule, first-place aspirations are realistic as well.

For now, the Redblacks will concern themselves with the Bombers and Henry Burris' ailing shoulder. Burris suffered the injury earlier this month against the Argos, but insists he'll be ready to go Friday.

The 40-year-old has turned back the clock this season for the Redblacks, leading the passing game to a league-best 319 yards per game.

Meanwhile, Winnipeg is still fighting for the final playoff spot in the West, sitting a half-game back of the BC Lions. The Bombers are coming off a big win over the Lions that narrowed the gap.

Winnipeg hasn't won two games in a row all season, so pulling it off this week could go a long way in helping them to the playoffs.
