The Calgary Stampeders improved to 9-3 with a 35-23 win over the BC Lions on Friday night.

Running back Jon Cornish made his return to the Stampeders lineup after missing time with a broken finger, and ran for 41 yards on 12 carries, scoring a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Calgary's Bo Levi Mitchell had another strong outing, throwing for 268 yards and two touchdowns, completing 21-of-34 passes. Eric Rogers was his favourite target, hauling in six catches for 129 yards, becoming the first receiver in the CFL this season to eclipse 1,000 yards.

Lions quarterback John Beck was forced from the game in the second quarter, after he took a massive hit and apparently hurt his shoulder. Rookie Jonathon Jennings took his place, and threw three interceptions, completing 15-of-27 passes for 251 yards.

Chris Rainey and Lavelle Hawkins had games to remember for BC. Rainey returned a kickoff and punt - for 103 yards - for touchdowns, while Hawkins had 106 yards receiving on six catches.
