Eskimos finally beat Stampeders, close gap in West
Mike Reilly threw three touchdowns, Kenny Stafford had over 100 yards receiving, and the Edmonton Eskimos snapped a 12-game losing streak against the Calgary Stampeders with a 27-16 victory at Commonwealth Stadium on Saturday.
Reilly, starting for the first time since June 27th, completed 22 of 40 pass attempts - including a 47-yard touchdown strike to Stafford in the third quarter - before finishing with 352 yards in the air.
Stafford caught three receptions for 103 yards as the Eskimos beat the first-place Stampeders (8-3) for the first time in four seasons.
Edmonton (7-4) controlled the offense with 431 total yards and limited Bo Levi Mitchell to just one first-half touchdown en route to its seventh win of the season.
Calgary, which lost for the first time in six games, is now just two points ahead of Edmonton in the West.
