Collaros leads Tiger-Cats in drubbing of Eskimos
Zach Collaros passed for 300 yards and three touchdowns, leading the Hamilton Tiger-Cats to a 49-20 thrashing of the Edmonton Eskimos on Friday night.
The Ticats have now won five straight games and improved their record to 6-2, putting them two points up on the Toronto Argonauts for the East Division lead. The Argos will have a chance to pull even Sunday when they visit the Ottawa RedBlacks.
Collaros zeroed in on two receivers in particular, as both Terrell Sinkfield Jr., and Luke Tasker topped the 100-yard mark. Tasker went for a team-high 129 yards on five catches, while Sinkfield hauled in six passers for 118 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
The Eskimos got a second-half spark from quarterback James Franklin, who entered the game in relief of starter Matt Nichols. Franklin went 22-of-36 for 254 yards with a pair of touchdowns and an interceptions, but it was not enough to bring Edmonton back from way down.
Derel Walker recorded 14 receptions for 183 yards in the losing effort, as the Eskimos dropped to 5-3 on the year.
