Eskimos look to continue rolling against winless Roughriders

The strongest offensive team in the CFL will try to flex its muscle against the best defensive club in the league Friday at Commonwealth Stadium, as the winless Saskatchewan Roughriders play the streaking Edmonton Eskimos.

The Esks have outscored opponents 101-32 during their current three-game winning streak, beating a much improved Ottawa RedBlacks squad twice and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers - limiting them to just three points - with third-stringer James Franklin. Since Chris Jones became the head coach in 2014, the team has gone 10-2 at home.

With league-leading passer Kevin Glenn playing alongside weapons Weston Dressler and Jerome Messam, it's hard to fathom how the Riders are 0-5 in 2015. They edge the league in all offensive stats, but failed to deliver in two overtime games this season, and will face off against the Eskimos' juggernaut defense, which is among the league leaders in all defensive categories.

The Green and Gold are aiming to launch themselves into sole possession of first in the league, while the Riders will try to end their winless misery. Kickoff is set for 9 p.m. ET.
