Argos' Bradwell announces retirement
Toronto Argonauts receiver Mike Bradwell is saying farewell to the Canadian Football League.
The Toronto native played in the CFL for six years (all with his hometown team), dressing as a member of the Argos' 100th Grey Cup-winning roster.
"For the past six years, I have been able to live out my dream for the Toronto Argonauts," Bradwell said. "I want to thank all of the amazing Argos fans and everyone in the organization, especially Scott Milanovich and Jim Barker, for giving me the opportunity to play CFL football."
Along with being a popular local product on the field, Bradwell has also been known for his work within the Toronto community, launching several initiatives, including the Huddle Up Bullying Prevention Program.
Argos bench boss Milanovich saluted Bradwell.
“On the field, Mike was a selfless player who helped us win football games with his versatility, intelligence and toughness," Milanovich said. "We wish him the very best in the future and would like to thank him for his contributions to our organization.”
Bradwell caught 116 passes for 1,240 yards over his six-year career, tallying six touchdowns.
