Report: Argonauts set to sign lease with BMO Field
Nick Turchiaro / USA Today
BMO Field could soon be home to two kinds of football.
The Toronto Argonauts appear close to negotiating a lease deal with Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment for the soccer-specific stadium, according to Sportsnet's Damien Cox.
The deal would not be for the upcoming CFL season, but the Argonauts are in need of a new home once their lease with the Rogers Centre expires in 2017.
Argonauts owner David Braley acknowledged that the team is in talks about a lease agreement for BMO Field, but says there is no deal in place, according to Sean Fitz-Gerald of the National Post.
