Stampeders sign defensive back Joshua Bell to a contract extension
CALGARY - The Calgary Stampeders have signed international defensive back Joshua Bell to a contract extension.
Bell started all 18 games at safety for the Stampeders last season and registered 56 tackles, including three tackles for loss, a forced fumble and two interceptions. He also had two special-teams tackles.
Bell had three knockdowns and two tackles in the Western Final and two defensive tackles and a special-teams tackle in the Grey Cup.
"Josh stepped into the safety spot for us last year and did an excellent job," Hufnagel said in a team release. "He was a very good addition to our defence and I'm pleased that he has chosen to sign an extension with the team."
In 36 career CFL games with Calgary and the B.C. Lions, Bell has 102 tackles, 10 special-teams tackles, three interceptions and one forced fumble.
