Arkansas State DL Owens killed in shooting

Arkansas State defensive lineman Markel Owens was one of two men killed in a shooting in Jackson, Tennessee, the school confirmed on Thursday.

"It's a sad day," said sports information director Jerry Scott.

The Jackson Sun reports three people were shot on Wednesday night, including the 21-year-old junior.

Police confirmed it is being investigated as a home invasion.
