The Edmonton Eskimos are preparing to anoint Ottawa RedBlacks assistant general manager Brock Sunderland as their new general manager, reports Farhan Lalji of TSN, citing sources.
Sunderland has held his position with the RedBlacks since 2013. He previously served as a pro scout for the New York Jets of the NFL from 2007-12, and as director of scouting for the Montreal Alouettes from 2005-07.
The Eskimos have been without a general manager since firing Ed Hervey on April 7. Eskimos president and CEO Len Rhodes cited a disagreement on the terms of a contract extension and a "difference in philosophy" as the main reasons for Hervey's dismissal.
